Fluid Power from SICK. These are intelligent sensors and applications in the field of hydraulic and pneumatic industrial drives. In many areas, they contribute to the optimization of processes and improved value creation - in part thanks to the easy integration and resulting flexibility during installation and application. Extremely clever and installed in next to no time. The intelligence of the sensors is shown by their flexible handling, among other things. Sensor integration across all common interfaces such as the IO-Link interface is no problem at all, and plug and play is already the standard for Fluid Power sensors from SICK.
Smart Fluid Power: Easy integration in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
This makes sensor replacement and maintenance very straightforward. And retrofitting intelligent sensors from SICK is therefore also very simple. This is of crucial importance for a wide range of applications. For example, when it comes to pneumatic actuator engineering, technical components such as grippers are becoming increasingly compact, which means there is less and less room for sensors with complicated integration. The need for reliable sensors with easy integration is correspondingly high.
Magnetic cylinder sensors equipped for all installation locations and conditions in pneumatic systems
The IO-Link technology plays an important role in enabling simple integration into processes. With its help, it is possible to set switch-on or switch-off delays, read out the temperature or count the switching cycles. Its very ability to program via digital interfaces and IO-Link enables space-saving solutions in grippers or short stroke cylinders without having to change the sensor position again.
Maximum flexibility with pressure and temperature sensors
But IO-Link is also the basis for quick and easy integration for other Fluid Power sensors. SICK has a wide variety of sensors which do their work reliably in diverse mechanical engineering processes and provide additional functions for the machine controller via IO-Link. Basically, they measure the level, pressure and temperature, position and flow. The spectrum of their use ranges from machine tools - machining and non-cutting - such as CNC machining centers to hydraulic presses and much more. Good examples here are the PAC50, PBS and TBS pressure and temperature sensors. They offer maximum flexibility when it comes to evaluation and feature analog output signals as well as digital switching outputs.
For CNC machines, the list of parameters to be measured is long: The oil and cooling lubricant levels, the locking positions or forces of the workpiece clamps, and the permissible operating temperatures of the oils or cutting fluids. The TBS temperature sensor reliably monitors the operating temperatures here. The PBS pressure switch supplies digital and/or analog signals to the controller for monitoring pressure. Thanks to the IO-Link, sensors that are difficult to access can be configured easily via remote access and the pressure values displayed on the HMI. Limit levels in the chip conveyor are safely detected using an LFV200 vibrating level switch. And finally, the LFP Cubic offers four switching points in one sensor, thus reducing mechanical complexity and the costs of the individual sensors that would otherwise be required. All data from a single source - this makes all the difference.
