PSDI mode

PSDI (Presence Sensing Device Initiation) is the use of a protective device to initiate a machine function. The machine waits at a defined position for a specified number of interventions by the operator. If the protective field becomes clear again after one (single break PSDI mode) or two (double break PSDI mode) interventions, the machine cycle is continued.

PSDI mode is advantageous if parts must be manually loaded and unloaded cyclically. Stringent requirements on safety must be met to be able to use PSDI mode.
