With the deTec4 Core, SICK sets a new standard in safety light curtains: "The curtains rising" for protection without blind zones, for automatic distance measurement, commissioning without configuration, and diagnostic codes that can be interpreted directly.
The new deTec4 Core is an electro-sensitive protective device that complies with performance level e in accordance with EN ISO 13849 as well as SIL3 in accordance with IEC 61508. In terms of mechanical installation, the deTec4 Core delivers convincing performance due to bracket types that can be aligned according to requirements, allowing for significantly faster installation of the protective device. Standard mounting sets are included in the package contents.
deTec4 Core: Easy to integrate and economical in operation
In terms of safety technology, the new deTec4 Core safety light curtain concentrates on the essentials, though providing important benefits in application because of its innovative layout. The new design is not only extremely robust but also space saving. Whether resolutions of 14 mm or 30 mm - blind zones belong to the past, thanks also to the new type of cable outlet. Starting out with 300 mm, one can select protective field heights in 150-mm increments. The scale goes all the way to 2,100 mm - which means the deTec4 Core provides explicit protection against intervention in accordance with EN ISO 13855. In terms of ranges, one can choose between 7 m at a resolution of 14 mm and 10 m at a resolution of 30 mm.

Flexi Classic safety controllers
Since the sensor works only in protective mode, no configuration is required. Additional functions can be set up via the safety relays or the Flexi Classic and Flexi Soft safety controllers from SICK. Exact adjustment of the range at start-up occurs automatically by the deTec4 Core itself - moreover, the integrated alignment display ensures fast and accurate positioning of the sender and receiver in relation to each other.
Fit for any environment
The innovations provided by the deTec4 Core are not limited to standard applications only. IP 65 and IP 67 enclosure rating as well as an operating temperature range from -30 °C to +55 °C allow using the new safety light curtains in demanding environments as well.
