Tough when it gets rough: Inductive proximity sensors IQ

Sep 21, 2012

Space-saving design, rugged housing layout, ASIC technology for maximum electronic stability, and extended sensing ranges are the highlights of the new IQ inductive proximity sensors from SICK. Näherungssensor IQ

The three product families, IQ08, IQ10 and IQ12, provide extended service life due to their tough and chemically resistant IP-68 housing made of VISTAL, a special glass-fiber reinforced plastic, as well as electronics protected by hot-melt molding. Thanks to their space-saving design, they are also suited for narrow installation locations. The practical 270° status display with extra bright LED allows fast viewing of the sensor status from any angle of vision.

Best-in-class performance in any design

Slender external dimensions measuring only 8 mm x 8 mm and at the same time, a sensing range of up to 4 mm in case of non-flush installation make the IQ08 the optimum combination of minimum space requirement and high detection performance. The rectangular IQ10 convinces users with sensing ranges up to 6 mm - more than many larger designs currently offer. The IQ12 features a compact design with best-in-class performance: The sensor has a sensing range increased to 8 mm. Thanks to their precise detection and high sensing accuracy, all of the three IQ product families are ideal solutions for dynamic detection, counting, and positioning. And they are tough when it gets rough regarding their mechanics and electronics.
